How we research online casinos
Every review on KiwiCryptoGuide is built from documents and public records, not from marketing copy. We do not take test deposits, and we say so plainly: this site is run by a small team, not a lab. What we do instead is verify what can be verified, cite where each claim comes from, and date every review so you can see how current it is.
What we check
Licence and corporate identity. We record the licence number, the issuing regulator, and whether the operator appears in the regulator’s public register. Where a casino holds no licence that covers New Zealand players, we say so and flag it in the licence status badge.
Bonus terms, read in full. We quote the wagering requirement, the maximum bet allowed during playthrough, the maximum cashout on the bonus, the game weighting, and the expiry window. Bonus headline figures mean nothing without these, so we never publish one without the others.
Banking. Minimum deposit, withdrawal limits per transaction and per period, supported coins and networks, and stated processing times. Where the operator publishes a fee schedule, we reproduce it.
Complaint patterns. We look at public complaint volumes over the last six to twelve months, and at how the operator responds. A single angry review means little; a cluster of unresolved withdrawal complaints means a lot.
Provably fair and transparency. Whether game results can be independently verified, whether the operator publishes proof of reserves, and whether the RNG or provider list is disclosed.
Scoring
Each casino is scored out of 10 across five weighted areas: licensing and trust (30%), bonus fairness (20%), banking and payout reliability (25%), software and game range (15%), and support (10%). The overall score is the weighted result, rounded to one decimal. Scores are comparable across the site because the same weights are applied to every operator.
What we do not do
- We do not accept payment for a score. Affiliate commission never changes a rating.
- We do not list a casino we have not reviewed in full.
- We do not publish bonus terms without the conditions attached to them.
- We do not recommend an operator with unresolved withdrawal complaints as a top pick.
How often reviews are updated
Reviews are re-checked at least every 90 days, and immediately when an operator changes its bonus, licence, or banking terms. The date at the foot of each review is the date the data was last verified. If a term has changed and we have not caught it, tell us and we will correct it.
Affiliate disclosure
Most outbound links to casinos are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Full details are on our disclosure page.
